BUY MY COMIC! I NEED TO EAT!

R.I.P. ANDY ROBLES 1978-2008

Journal Entry: Wed Apr 23, 2008, 9:41 PM
Prayers to the Robles family, as Andy -- the artist behind :iconzeroa: passed away earlier this evening.

Even in a deteriorating state of health, for the past few years, he kept to an incredible rate of production. His DA page is only a small representation of the work he's done and was still capable of achieving. I'm sad to see this day come so soon, and had hoped for more days with him.

I'm afraid I'm still kind of shocked at the news, so I ask that condolences be left with his best friends and the maintainers of the page.

Rest in peace, Andy.

EMERGENCY REPORT: My primary computer is down. Complete drive failure. Most all my information is backed up and retrievable and I have a second computer & external drive to transfer to, but that will take time. Those who have it, enjoy Issue 1 of the Demon Mages, and this shouldn't negatively impact Issue 2 in the long run. I'll do what I can to keep updated. That is all.

In the year 2423, After Dominion Calendar...
The Republic of Koltenia celebrates 20 years of peace after a costly and tragic civil war.
But on the anniversary of the nation, four wild sorceresses gained possession of a mysterious artifact.
Now a surly basilisk, an arrogant gorgon, a nerdy succubus, and a spunky dark elf are all that stand between the ambition of the "Magician's Nation", and the recapture of the "Babel Star".

Whether to destroy, save or conquer a nation, they are
THE DEMON MAGES!

CRYBRINGER F.A.Q.

(1): Can I color your artwork?
-Sure. If it's interesting or well done, I'll post a reply.

(2): How do you draw so good?
-Practice. I didn't start yesterday. I draw once a day, every day. Even if it's a doodle, it's something.

(3): How do you get your lines so crisp?
-PRACTICE. Light, clean, fast. Push too hard on the lead, it breaks. Erase too much, shreds the paper. Go too slow, hand shakes & it comes out crooked.

(4): I wanna use your art for tubes/snags/tags! I'll totally give you credit! May I?
-What's a tube/snag/tag? Are you making money off it? If so, no.

(5): Will you post a tutorial?
-Thought about it, and I do like to give advice now & then. But the real question is are you looking for an easy way out, or do you really want to learn something?

(6): You haven't replied to my question yet! Are you ignoring me?
Note me please, if there's a one-on-one question to ask. You're guaranteed to get a reply that way.

So, my bank already had screwed up last month (because there's no communication between two separate branches of the same banking system...) and I had to dispute a 500+ dollar debit fee. NOW apparently I owe my phone company almost TEN TIMES my normal bill... Is this adulthood? Regular conveniences that occasionally flip out and screw you over with exorbitant charges? I've reached a happy medium with gas prices, and I take the hit for the sweet taste of orange juice, but seriously? I'm not rich, nor famous.

Sadly because of that, mistaking the dates of the event and Artist Alley being closed in a matter of seconds (literally) at the registration time anyway, I won't make Anime Boston.
This also puts my chances of making San Diego Comic Con somewhat at risk -- I WILL BE IN SAN DIEGO IN JULY, because I have enough family & acquaintances there to justify any trip. But getting in the door for the convention is up in the air. In any case, I'll make my own plans and continue as usual as far as DA is concerned.

That is all.

P.S. -- You'll also find a new gallery folder on my page, spotlighting a selection of my 10 favorites of my own work. They're selected from August of 2004 to August of 2007, and you might be surprised to see what's there. Take a look!
In fact, find ten of your own pieces, not just the most popular or the most professional (though if they are, sweet!)... the ten that you, the artist like the most! Hey, if you're not having fun & enjoying what you're doing, what's the point?
